When thousands of social media users blasted Whole Foods Market for selling pre-peeled oranges in plastic containers for $5.99, the grocery chain called the product a “mistake” and promised to use “natural packaging: the peel.” But that wasn’t the answer some Internet users were hoping for.

“If only nature would find a way to cover these oranges so we didn’t need to waste so much plastic on them,” a viral tweet read.
